Nike is one of the most beloved deities of all, the immortal Goddess of Victory, of prevailing in a contest.


33. Νίκης, - Nike, Goddess of Victory/Prevailing

θυμίαμα - incense
μάνναν. - porous, loose frankincense?

Εὐδύνατον - mighty = essence pure (Εὐ) + strong, mighty, power, dynamic (δύνατον)
καλέω - call
Νίκην, - Nike
θνητοῖσι - of mortals
ποθεινήν, - longed for, desired

ἣ - shared center
μούνη - alone
λύει - loosen, unbind, unfasten
θνητῶν - mortal
ἐναγώνιον - competition, contest, fight, games
ὁρμὴν - onset, assault, attack, spring forward, eager desire, gush, impulse

καὶ - and
στάσιν - position, station, placement, stationary
ἀλγινόεσσαν - painful, grievous, distress, suffering
ἐπ' - upon 
ἀντιπάλοισι - antagonist, rival, adversary, nearly matched, balance of power
μάχαισιν, - battle, combat, contest =  means of (μά) + foundation (χαισιν) 

ἐν - in, within
πολέμοις - polemics, war, battle, fight
κρίνουσα - decide, decide the question, win, decide a contest, choose, pick out
τροπαιούχοισιν - having or gaining trophies, to whom trophies are dedicated
ἐπ' - upon
ἔργοις, - work, produce an effect, work at (basis of "ergonomics")

οἷς - sheep, ram, ewe; wicker; fruit, offspring; arrow
ἂν - arising
ἐφορμαίνουσα - stir up, rouse against, rush upon, attack; blockade; way of attack
φέροις - destiny, fate; bring forth, produce; carry off or away; bring, bring about; endure, suffer; bear, convey, carry
γλυκερώτατον - sweet, sugary (γλυκε) + flow, outflow of (ρώ) + tension (τατον) 
εὖχος· - thing prayed for, object of prayer; vow, votive offering

πάντων - all
γὰρ - generate
κρατέεις, - be strong, powerful; ruler, rule over, conquer, prevail, get the upper hand, be superior, rule, hold sway
πάσης - all, the whole, every
δ' - of, from
ἔριδος - battle-strife, strife, contention, Personified, the Goddess Eris, who incites war
κλέος - good report, fame, glory
ἐσθλὸν - good, good of their kind, brave, stout, faithful, fortunate, lucky, goodness

Νίκηι - Nike
ἐπ' - upon
εὐδόξωι - good repute, honor, virtue, excellence = essence pure (εὐ) + opinion, repute (δόξωι) 
κεῖται - to be laid, lie, lie outstretched, lie down, repose
θαλίαισι - abundance, good cheer
βρυάζον. - swell, teem, be pregnant, bubble up, revel in

ἀλλά, - but
μάκαιρ', - happily, blessed
ἔλθοις - come, go
πεποθημένη - long for, yearn after
ὄμματι - see, receive through the eyes, look
φαιδρῶι - with bright, joyous look; make bright; cheer, brighten up
