To Zephyros

Αὖραι παντογενεῖς Ζεφυριτίδες, ἠεροφοῖται,
Aurai[1] all-genitive Zephyride’s[2] air-roaming
ἡδύπνοοι ψιθυραί, θανάτου ἀνάπαυσιν ἔχουσαι,
Sweet-breathing whispers of death’s repose held fast
εἰαριναί, λειμωνιάδες, πεποθημέναι ὅρμοις,
Spring meadows ripening passion’s cord
σύρουσαι ναυσὶ τρυφερὸν ὅρμον, ἠέρα κοῦφον·
Trailing floating delicate corded aereal effervesence.
ἔλθοιτ’ εὐμενέουσαι, ἐπιπνείουσαι ἀμεμφεῖς,
Come, kindly power, upon breath above reproach
ἠέριαι, ἀφανεῖς, κουφόπτεροι, ἀερόμορφοι.
Aerial, invisible, light-winged, air-formed.
